COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
Our team works alongside residents at every stage — building trust before construction begins, maintaining open communication throughout, and delivering programs that create lasting opportunity.
Pre-Development
Before a shovel hits the ground, our team is already in the community. We conduct needs assessment surveys, run focus groups, and build relationships with residents and local organizations. We handle objections, build trust, and make sure every voice is heard — because buy-in from the community is as important as buy-in from our partners.
During Construction
We stay in constant communication with residents throughout the construction process. Phase timing, delays, noise, traffic, testing — nothing comes as a surprise. We use every channel available: text messages, newsletters, phone calls, door knocking, flyers. We work closely with our construction team to anticipate issues before they become problems.
After Move-In
Our team implements social service and community engagement programs tailored to what residents actually need – identified through surveys and focus groups we conduct ourselves. We run programs, we partner with nonprofits, and we connect residents to resources that help them grow, thrive, and reach their full potential. Through questionnaires and other assessments, we make sure the programs we are a part of in each community are making a real difference.

NONPROFIT PARTNERSHIPS
Every project comes with a support system for the community.
We actively recruit and vet nonprofits to operate within our buildings – providing dedicated spaces for organizations whose services directly benefit residents. When the right program doesn't exist, we create it ourselves and find the right partner to sustain it. From health and wellness to workforce development to youth programs, we build the support system into every project from day one.

I had lived in my apartment for 22 years. When BFC came in to renovate I was nervous — I didn’t know if I’d even be able to come back. They walked me through every step. When I returned, my apartment was completely transformed. I felt like I had a real home for the first time in years.
